(Since this is a SA3 game,it negates the events of games that come after SA2,like Shadow the Hedgehog,Sonic Heroes and etc.All robots that Eggman used in future games are saved for a different storyline.)
Doctor Eggman of the Future has become a much bigger threat than he ever was before.After his last defeat,he went into hiding for 50 years,with no signs of him anywhere in Mobius.He suprisingly emerged,destroying the Marble Garden zone as well as anything around it.Eggman later reveals,that he spent those 50 years constructing machines based on Sonic's battle data,along with everyone else's,as well as learning everyone maneuvers and tactics.This resulted in him building not only the most deadly machines he ever created,but as well as creating his own unit of Metallic Mobians - metal version of every Sonic character,fully equipped with their own specific weaponry and vast knowledge of their living counterparts' fighting skills,along with the ability to learn and adapt to anyone's changes in battle tactics and style.Eggman's new found determination and his horde of greatly augmented robots,has proven to be a bigger challenge then Sonic and his co.had ever expected,losing almost every battle to Eggman and his machines across many zones in Mobius.After the Eggsterminator(his transformer-ship from Sonic X)destroyed the last stronghold of the heroes,they prepared themselves for the last battle,with their fates inevitably ending.As a last resort,Tails activated his Time machine and sent the only hedgehog,whom Eggman never seen or copied his abilities - Silver the Hedgehog,a being from the future,who has been fighting the Doctor to get the Chaos Emeralds so he could return home.Going back 50 years in the past - to the moment of Eggman's greatest defeat,that sends him into hiding - to find the Sonic of the past and seek his aid,as Future Eggman's plans of ruling the timeline,may cause unforseen consequences.As the Heroes agree to help Silver,he teleports them all back to his time.By the time they return,Future Sonic and all of his friends have all but perished in the vicious battle....Sonic,filled with determination,adrenaline and anger over such losses,agrees to help Silver fight the Doctor and his new and improved mechanical hordes.
Meanwhile,in the ruined themples of the Marble Gardens,Eggman finds hieroglyphs that speak of an great power hidden underneath the temple.This power is said to awaken the ancient Gods that once ruled Mobius,during it's formation,several thousands of years before.This power - is The Flames of Disaster,the essense of the Sun God Solaris,one of the many cosmic deities to be trapped in an ancient veil.As he further read the hieroglyphs,he finds out that there are other deities trapped across Mobius,in unknown locations - Dark Gaia,Perfect Chaos and The Time Eater.Going deeper into the temple,Egman manages to find the Flames of Disaster - a veil with an everlasting white fire burning inside.Eggman decides that instead of awakening the entities in his own timeline using the flame,he decides to go through time and awaken them in different areas there.After taking the veil back to his base,his scientific meddling accidentally released a shadow-y being with no form or substance.The being calls itself Mephiles and offers his assistance to Eggman,helping him find the deities across timelines.Using his time machine,Eggman sends Mephiles to the past,ordering to awaken Dark Gaia,while Eggman tries to summon Perfect Chaos in another location.While Mephiles is being sent to the past,he sends out part of his essense into the future - namely,Iblis - to find whatver powersource,that may help further Mephiles's ambitions.
As the timelines become intersperced,many riddles are being solved and much destruction occurs across the time stream.Will this truly be Sonic's last adventure?Or will he defy all odds and defeated the menaces of time?We can only hope for that......
(This is pretty much Sonic's side of the story.I think i might do Shadow's and Silver's arch as well...maybe..)
